First Meeting done and now…
Well, our first meeting of the year was informative, interesting and long. We did however have a spirited discussion with Steve Parfenuik (HDSB Financial guy) which may have cleared some of the muddy waters…
yet stirred others. Details and processing discussion of the night will be posted here over the next few days. On a more predictable housekeeping front.. the Halton Executive for 2007/2008 was set
Maureen Smithers President, Melody Collins, VP, Michele Broad, Secretary and Heather Castilloux as Treasurer.
Next in person meeting is: Monday, November 19th at Brookdale P.S. @ 7.15pm (Thank you Kim!!).
In the meantime, if you want to start a discussion or have a comment – PLEASE post it here – or send it to my email and I’ll post it for you.

Welcome Sunningdale P.S.
It is with great PLEASURE I welcome the parents of the Sunningdale school community to Halton Council and of course to the Ontario Federation! You may remember I spoke with the parents at Sunningdale back in June.
I’m looking forward to working with the parents of this French Immersion school and trust they will quickly feel comfortable working toward the “best for every student” as part of the Home and School network.

Hot News
Confused about how the HDSB fund-raising and financial guidelines effect your Home and School Association? Steve Parfeniuk, the HDSB Superintendent of Business and Treasurer will be at the September 24 meeting (7.15pm – W.H. Morden)
I have asked Steve to review the board’s school council fund-raising / reporting guidelines and how they may or may not effect Home and School Associations.
This is an important meeting as the year begins. Please ask your association treasurer to attend in attention to your Halton Council Rep.
