Parent-Teacher Interviews, PIC money and…

I’ve uploaded a helpful Parent-Teacher interview tip sheet – check it out under “Things to Print”.

PIC money is available to our School Councils – these funds are to be used to encourage Parent Involvement.  I’ll post a list here of ideas re: how to spend over the next couple of days.

Do you have any suggestions, ideas re: PIC funds… why not post them …

Meeting date change…and some thoughts

Ok, it’s been busy on the Council front.  Over the past few weeks, we’ve spoken to parents in a number of Halton schools and made a presentation at SEAC (Special Education Advisory Committee).   Actually, the powerpoint we put together for SEAC (thanks Amy McKenzie) is pretty solid, and informative.  Over the next couple of weeks I hope to adapt it for a general presentation re: Home and Schools and what we are about.

On the housekeeping front – we’ve opted to skip the November meeting.  The reason?  The HDSB has been making rumblings re: H/S and our financial obligations to the board.  I’ve a meeting scheduled for the end of November with the board and again at the beginning of December. (both are after our November meeting date)  SO… we’ll hold off.  Of course, I will update you before with anything requiring urgent attention.

New meeting date:  Monday, January 19, 2009 @ Pilgrim Wood.
